Modern Sleeping Beauty Story

In a city far, far away there was a neighborhood in Beverly Hills, where a small family resided. The Stanley’s consisted of Richard Stanley his wife Katherine, and their daughter Kelly. Kelly was an only child, so naturally she got whatever she wanted. Though she was spoiled rotten, she appreciated everything her parents did for her, so in return she was a very humble, and generous young girl.

Kelly and her boyfriend had recently broken up and she was devastated, coincidentally her  sixteenth birthday was coming up so her parents offered to throw her an extravagant sweet 16 that she could invite all of her friends to, in attempts to make her feel better. Kelly was thrilled about the idea and starting planning it instantly. She picked out the perfect flowers, the hottest entertainment, and the best location money could buy. The only thing she had left to do was make the invite list and send out the invitations, which was undoubtedly the hardest part. After hours of consulting her closest girl friends about the guest list, she finally sent out the 120 invitations. It was the talk around school for the next week, everyone was going, everyone besides Kelly’s ex-boyfriend who was not happy.

The night everyone had been looking forward to for weeks was finally here. Everyone had arrived and things were going perfectly as planned. The music was a hit, the food was delicious, and everyone was having a blast. When Kelly went to the bathroom to touch up her make up, she caught a glimpse of her ex-boyfriend chatting with some of the guests. Although she was caught off guard, and wanted to tell him to leave, she wanted to avoid a scene so she put on a happy face and ignored his presence. Towards the end of the night while things were settling down, Kelly began opening her gifts from her best friends. A necklace from Sarah, a charm bracelet from Jenna, a new pair of Uggs from Gina and gift cards to her favorite stores from the others, she was grateful for all of the gifts and hugged her friends and thanked them. Tired from all the dancing, Kelly took her high heels off and sat down at one of the tables. From behind her emerged her ex-boyfriend, exclaiming “I come in peace” before she could even get a word in. Kelly sighed and allowed him to sit down with her. They talked for a while, and Kelly was pleased that they could finally be civil. He offered Kelly a drink and insisted that they do a toast to her birthday and their new friendship, so they did and after that  they both went their separate ways for the evening. The guests were beginning to leave anyways, and Kelly started feeling dizzy and tired. Not realizing it, Kelly had wandered into the coat closet looking for a quiet place to sit down for a while, without telling anyone where she went.

The next day, Kelly woke up to a paramedic giving her CPR in the closet where he found her unconscious body. She hugged him and exclaimed “You’re my hero!”. They went to the hospital to run some tests and they discovered that there was rufilin in her system, and that someone must have drugged her. She instantly knew what had happened, it all clicked. When she told the paramedic exactly what happened, that her ex boyfriend had sneaked into the party and tricked her into having a drink with him. Quickly, he went to the police and told them the whole story. He never left Kelly’s side throughout everything, they fell in love instantly and lived happily ever after.
